Seven Words Selected
JUDGE NOT THAT YE BE NOT JUDGED – The judge sees and acts from a superior position with the fullest possible familiarity with the facts. We have neither the purity nor understanding to occupy that bench over other mortals. The fact which we do not know will always condemn our assessment of the situation. We know best those facts concerning ourselves. Hence we are told to judge ourselves. The other parties are God’s projects and still unfinished. First Corinthians 13 tells us to think no evil; that is to put the best possible spin on the situation before us. Love expects the bright interpretation of things. It may also usher in the victory.
