David Bowden...Today's Jeremiah?

David Bowden's verse recitations are huge. They come out of intense burden for opportunity yet unrealized through the churches. They are not simply keen memory work. The timing and the emphasis are just too spirited and precise. They are a fascinating example of manifestation of the compassion and anointing of the Holy Ghost.

We need to exercise ourselves toward such anointing, earnestly beseeching the Spirit to arrive and to put us to redeeming use. Clearly that anointing was in Jesus and is made available as more of the life-flow of the Saviour comes to the sincere believer. It is an impartation; not an imitation. It will illumine, heal and steel for single-minded life and service in Christ. It is the essence of Jesus Himself.

Acts 10:

37That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
 38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
 39And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
 40Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

A word of warning to the Bard: Illumination and anointing can go missing. Robert Murray M'Cheyne of Dundee, Scotland always cautioned about the erosive effect of the praises, fawning and comfort of mere men. (See our Label on M'Cheyne)
