Norman Rockwell Saw Much of Life
Wonder If I’m ever
Gonna find a guy like that.
Home on leave
And clacking down the line.
The war forgot.
Girl clings tight
Few precious days
And back he goes
To fight.
Not fighting now
They cuddle so
On this a rainy night.
The train speeds on
But not another
Traveler in their view.
Not even I
With Aunty Flo’
Assessing hugs and kisses so.
(This love they knew.)
